Tangier Stadium Roof Sets Record

On July 12, 2025, the construction team at Grand Stade de Tanger completed the installation of 60 massive steel roof beams—each about 105 tons and nearly 60 meters long—in just 28 days, setting a world record for this kind of structure. Over 500 workers and 12 expert climbers worked in continuous day and night shifts. The speed of this achievement is twice as fast as similar projects, like Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium in 2017. All beams were produced domestically, highlighting Morocco’s strong industrial capacity. The feat positions the stadium as a key venue for AFCON 2025 and showcases Morocco’s growing excellence in delivering major sports infrastructure projects.
